Ugly Monster
Ugly Monster is packaging for a popsicle product made in Taiwan. The design shows a green character with a rugged surface, inspired by guava, a fruit grown in the town of Yanchao. Fluorescent green gives the character a positive and lively look. The body and the legs have an unbalanced ratio, and the character has no hands, so the form appears funny. The package measures 70 mm in width, 195 mm in length and 20 mm in height. The aim is to promote the product and to draw attention to the small town and its farmers.
Ugly Monster Package by JBBC BRANDING CONSULTANCY has been selected as an innovative representation of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Ugly Monster Package was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2020. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade that recognizes exceptional design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
