Yufengyuan
Yufengyuan is a restaurant interior covering 1100 square meters. The design refers to the culture of the Yellow River. A passage of 50 meters follows the line of the river through the space. Eight metal boxes of different heights are placed along the passage. Each box seats one family and is named after a small creature, such as a butterfly, a frog or a bee. The finish of each box follows the character of the creature. All boxes are raised, so entering a box becomes a moment of ritual. The main materials are terrazzo, steel plate, bamboo and latex paint.
Yufengyuan Restaurant by Xiaobo Ye has been selected as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Yufengyuan Restaurant won the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program which celebrates excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
