Time Book
Time Book is a bookend designed for use on a desk or a bookshelf. Each bookend is made from a hand-polished crystal glass block. Special ink is screen printed on the surface and cured at high temperature. The high density of the crystal glass gives the bookend stability in use. The design is minimal in function, form and material, and resembles a book-shaped sculpture. The form presents the function clearly. The printed text uses the Quinsay Parto typeface. The letters MMXIX on the spine are the Roman numerals for 2019.
Time Book Bookend by Tong Yi was recognized as an innovative example of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Time Book Bookend was awarded the Golden A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2020. The A' Furniture Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design award that recognizes excellent design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
