Velo Solex Revival Electric Bicycle

Velo Solex Revival

Velo Solex Revival is an electric bicycle based on the original Solex gasoline moped introduced in 1949. The frame geometry and the frame shape follow the 1949 original, while the frame has been adapted to hold an electric motor and a battery. Modern materials are used, including aluminium, carbon and steel. Light materials such as carbon and kevlar help keep the weight low, which suits the light and sporty character of the bicycle. The vehicle measures 180 cm by 55 cm by 95 cm and weighs 25 kilograms. The design was developed with insights collected from 500 consumers.

Velo Solex Revival Electric Bicycle by Brian Kenneth Høhl has been identified as an innovative illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Velo Solex Revival Electric Bicycle earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Vehicle, Mobility and Transportation Design in 2020. The A' Vehicle, Mobility and Transportation Design Award is a highly prestigious international design recognition program that honors superior design of cars, motorcycles, bicycles, trucks, buses, trains, ships, aircrafts and more.
