Yongle Palace Myth
Yongle Palace Myth is a series of cartoon character illustrations based on the frescoes of Yongle Palace in Shanxi, China, which were painted during the Yuan Dynasty. The mural figures are simplified, exaggerated and decorated to suit modern taste, and elements such as cranes, lotus flowers and ribbons are added. The illustrations are drawn with vector software, and curve tools keep the light feeling of the clothing and the line art of the original murals. The prints are produced in four colors to encourage public interest in the murals and their protection.
