Plaza del Sol
Plaza del Sol is a packaging design for bags of crisps. The graphics draw on folk motifs and souvenir objects found in Spanish tourist cities, and these references are presented in a contemporary way with humor. Each flow pack tells a short story built from souvenir items, with the intention of making the buyer smile. The images are created through still life photography arranged in a set, and the bags are produced by flexographic printing. Each bag measures 195 by 320 millimeters.
Plaza del Sol Crisp Bag by Estudio Maba has been recognized as a grand illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Plaza del Sol Crisp Bag won the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2020. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design award which celebrates superior design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
