Xanadu
Xanadu is a landscape design for a residential community. The plan uses a small site to create a green setting within a busy city. A large green area is kept alongside the buildings, and two entrances connect to a narrow road on the southeast side. A wide sidewalk is planted with varied trees and fitted with furniture suited to the local character. A green hill, a water feature and cloud-like slate stones frame the entrance porch. A hidden fountain jets water at irregular times and cools the air. Recycled water and permeable methods reduce the urban heat island effect.
Xanadu Landscape by Hsu Fu Chu was selected as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Xanadu Landscape earned the Iron A' Design Award in Landscape Planning and Garden Design in 2020. The A' Landscape Planning and Garden Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize that rewards exceptional design of landscape designs, public parks, residential gardens, urban plazas, campus designs, green roofs, waterfront developments, Eco-Parks, botanical gardens and more.
