Inside Out
Inside Out is an event design created for DesignInspire, a three day exhibition held in Hong Kong. The concept turns a temporary wall structure inside out to expose all of its workings. Untreated plywood panels, off the shelf fixings and hired scaffolding form the entrance wall, the reception counter, the open forum, two open workshops and the communal display areas. A set of rules was prepared before construction to reduce onsite waste and to allow materials to be reused. The raw and neutral setting contrasts with the graphics and the products on display.
Inside Out Design Event by Hong Kong Trade Development Council has been recognized as a creative representation of service design by the A' Design Award. Inside Out Design Event was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Event and Happening Design in 2021. The A' Event and Happening Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design competition which recognizes outstanding design of trade fairs, award ceremonies, festivals, conferences, exhibitions, concerts, product launches, charity events and more.
