Standly Bao
Standly Bao is a folding standing support chair for workers who must stand for long periods. The design holds the body in a balanced standing posture while allowing the same freedom of movement as standing. A three point pressure method fixes the hip, the knee and the foot, so stress on the lower limbs is reduced and poor posture is avoided. The user pulls out the frame, rests the knees on the lower pad and leans on the upper pad. A spring returns the frame to its original position, and the folded form gives space back to narrow work areas such as bar and store counters.
Standly Bao Folding Chair by Ming Hsiu Lee has been identified as a creative representation of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Standly Bao Folding Chair was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2021. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program which rewards outstanding design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
