Leding Bespoke
Leding Bespoke is a retail space designed for a made-to-measure menswear tailor in Shaoxing, China. The main entrance is on the second floor and is reached by a staircase framed with blue laminated glass. A sculpture named Time Flow, formed by 698 movable cubes of 100 millimetres each, stands at the centre of the space. Circulation is arranged around Time Flow, with areas for measuring, cutting and sewing. Finishes include polished white tile, textured white paint, black matte metal and white terrazzo. Old tools and 3D printed body props recall the handmade tailoring process.
Leding Bespoke Retail Space by Zhihong Hu has been featured as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Leding Bespoke Retail Space received the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize which celebrates outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
