Dr Pet
Dr Pet is a pet club located in Taipei, Taiwan. The design occupies a two-story brick building that was once a private residence and was later left unused for a long time. The renovation keeps the original features and materials of the old house and adapts them to a commercial use. The interior covers about 132.23 square meters and holds a grass hall, a reception area, a rest area, a live broadcast area, a display area and an office. The reception counter recalls the counters of traditional Chinese medicine shops. Open planning links the club with the neighborhood.
Dr Pet Commercial Space by Chun Hsun Huang has been recognized as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Dr Pet Commercial Space earned the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design competition that celebrates outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
