Ocean Current
Ocean Current is a residential interior design created as a holiday home in Taipei, Taiwan. The space is based on a contrast of black and white, combined with wood, stone and iron. Wooden floors with different grain textures divide the dining and living areas, while marble forms tabletops and furniture details. Black iron pieces on the wall surfaces add an industrial balance. Arc shapes appear in the ceiling, cabinets and edge trims, and a curved beam varies the height of the living room. A small area with curved wooden louvers serves for reading and work.
Ocean Current Residential by Wu Wan Yu has been identified as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Ocean Current Residential received the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program which celebrates exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
