Ink Black Lightness
Ink Black Lightness is a residential interior design in Taichung, Taiwan. The 230 square meter home uses an ink-black color tone that extends across the wooden walls and forms a calm panoramic view. Interior divisions were removed to create an open public area that links the living room, dining room and kitchen. Vertical black cabinets store devices and keep the area organized. A curved ceiling softens the height difference caused by a beam. Senna siamea, Portuguese cork and blue and white porcelain marble give the space an elegant character.
Ink Black Lightness Residence by Fu Mei Chiu has been highlighted as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Ink Black Lightness Residence earned the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition which rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
