The Hub
The Hub is a mixed-use building located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The design brings together restaurants, small retail shops, a large recreational area for young people and office spaces, each with its own entrance and vertical circulation. All functions are gathered under one large canopy, which shades the spaces below and recalls the traditional souq. Corridors, bridges, roof gardens and landscaped areas link the different volumes. The total built-up area is 20,000 square meters, including 8,400 square meters of outdoor and landscaped space.
The Hub Mixed-use Building by Adel Badrawy has been selected as an exceptional illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. The Hub Mixed-use Building received the Iron A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2021. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design prize which celebrates outstanding design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
