Cang Ma Mountain
Cang Ma Mountain is a residential complex built in Qingdao, China. The project provides resettlement housing for more than 1,300 households from four nearby villages. The site covers about 130,000 square meters and holds residential buildings of four to eight storeys and commercial buildings of two to three storeys. The sloping terrain is divided into separate platforms that follow the original form of the hills. Red tiles, fences, stone mills, tea fields and an ancient well recall rural life and local culture.
Cang Ma Mountain Residence by Public Architectural Design Institute has been featured as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Cang Ma Mountain Residence was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2021. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program that honors superior design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
