X Streams
X Streams is a door handle made from reclaimed wood. Each handle is crafted from two pieces of wood joined together for durability. A smooth curve links the grip and the neck, giving a pleasant feel and a nonlinear shape. Fractal burning creates fine veins that resemble river streams. The veins are filled with colored epoxy resin or infused with gold or silver leaf, and then covered with clear epoxy resin for a refined finish. Because the electric current follows its own path, every handle is unique.
X Streams Door Handle by Jiri Marek has been recognized as an exceptional example of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. X Streams Door Handle was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Furniture Accessories, Hardware and Materials Design in 2021. The A' Furniture Accessories, Hardware and Materials Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize that honors excellent design of knobs, handles, hinges, casters, sliders, brackets, fasteners, locks and more.
