Rostrus
Today visual effects for films are primarily created using computer technologies. Despite that, Rostrus was made as a real-life film set with an opportunity for 360 degree shooting. The team followed the traditional approach in order to avoid discordance between actors and digital environment. The model is 1:1000 scale and finely detailed, which allows to shoot from a distance of up to 2 centimeters to the surface.
Rostrus Film Set by Mark Melnikov was highlighted as an exceptional example of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Rostrus Film Set received the Bronze A' Design Award in Fine Arts and Art Installation Design in 2021. The A' Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program that celebrates superior design of sculptures, paintings, installations, photographs, drawings, mixed media works, ceramics, art objects, craftworks and more.
