The Northern River Terminal
The Northern River Terminal of Moscow is a public space and river transportation hub. The building dates from the 1930s and is an example of the Stalinist Empire style. The base is made of polished red granite and the main portals are made of gray-green diorite, contrasting with white gallery columns. The three-floor palace is 150 meters long and the steeple reaches 27 meters. A restoration preserved most original elements and interior details, while missing parts were remade following historical patterns. The terminal serves passenger vessels and a park for year-round recreation.
The Northern River Terminal Public space by Olga Smirnova has been highlighted as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award.
