JF Modern
Yinchuan Jianfa Modern City is a shopping mall renovation in Yinchuan, China. The project updates a commercial building that has operated for ten years, following the concept of urban regeneration. The facade is formed with aluminum plates in a hyperboloid shape, inspired by pyramid forms shaped by wind and sand. Low emissivity glass is used to improve energy efficiency. A vertical facade system follows the rhythm of the original structure. A courtyard, a skylight and a roof garden guide pedestrian flow from the main street to the upper level.
JF Modern Shopping Mall by LnP Architects has been recognized as a creative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. JF Modern Shopping Mall earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2021. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program which rewards excellent design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
