Mix of Science and Aesthetics
Mix of Science and Aesthetics is a residential interior design completed in 2019 in Taichung, Taiwan. The 150 square meter home was re-planned into two bedrooms, a living room and a dining room. The open dining room and study room bring sunlight indoors and reduce the use of artificial light. Brown is the main color tone of the living room and study room, and oak veneer covers the beam above the desk. A domestic water filter and an energy recovery ventilation system support clean water and air.
Mix of Science and Aesthetics Residence by Ying Kai Chu was highlighted as a creative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Mix of Science and Aesthetics Residence earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design accolade that celebrates superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
