Forge Loft
Forge Loft is a loft apartment created inside an old forge in Leszno, Poland. The forge is part of a 19th-century pump factory that is being converted into a living complex. The interior is based on contrast. Original brick walls, concrete floors and lintels are kept as raw witnesses of the past. New elements are neutral and elegant, forming a frame for the historical structure. Black surfaces, perforated steel, a steel railing and a spiral staircase set the background, while warm accessories and soft textiles soften the industrial character. The apartment covers 120 square metres.
Forge Loft Apartment by Jan Sikora was selected as a creative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Forge Loft Apartment received the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious international design recognition program that recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
