SHINE ESTUARY
Shine Estuary is a community center located in the Oujiang New District of Wenzhou, China. The building is formed by three offset ellipsoid volumes that are superimposed upon each other, and a shared space connects the three volumes and links the whole building. The curved shapes recall the ripples made by fishing boats on the Oujiang River. Panels of ultra-white glass, measuring up to 2 by 6.15 meters, open the facade toward the water. Meeting rooms are placed on the third floor, which offers the best view of the river.
SHINE ESTUARY Community Center by Quincy Li was highlighted as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. SHINE ESTUARY Community Center was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2021. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design accolade which celebrates outstanding design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
