The Osmanthus Grace
The Osmanthus Grace is a sales center in Wenzhou, China, built on a site of 450 square meters. The linear building stands between Cui Wei Mountain and Ou River, with one part reaching the water. A series of connected sub-spaces of different scales leads visitors from dark areas to bright ones. Inclined ceilings lower sightlines toward the landscape, and a sunken area defines the meeting zone. Wide facades shaped like long paintings reduce the separation between indoor and outdoor. Wood, stone and plants are the main materials. The plan also allows future changes of use.
The Osmanthus Grace Sales Center by Quincy Li has been identified as an innovative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. The Osmanthus Grace Sales Center was awarded the Golden A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition which honors superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
