Time
Time is a packaging design created for a moisturizing facial mask. The box opens like a book, so the pages can be turned from the first to the last. The artwork uses a water beast from ancient Chinese mythology and colors taken from the Dunhuang murals. The outer package measures 200 mm long, 110 mm wide and 50 mm thick. Degradable paper is used as the main material. A UV brightening treatment and repeated embossing add contrast to the dark background. The design links traditional culture with a modern cosmetics brand.
Time Facial Mask by Jie Yang has been selected as a grand example of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Time Facial Mask received the Silver A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2021. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design award which honors outstanding design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
