Dabpa-Shatin
Dabpa-Shatin is a restaurant interior located on the ground floor of a shopping mall in Hong Kong. The plan follows a cell-like shape with 360 degree circulation, so staff can reach every table from the kitchen with ease. The dining area measures 2233 square feet. Each banquette seat is placed beside a large window scene with a potted landscape, which gives diners privacy and a personal view. Moss plates are inlaid across the surfaces. The design links indoor and outdoor space and reads as a garden rather than a shop.
Dabpa-Shatin restaurant by Minus Workshop was featured as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Dabpa-Shatin restaurant was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design prize which rewards superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
