Nanxiang Incity
Nanxiang Incity is a visual signage system created for a shopping mall in Shanghai. The design draws on the local culture of Nanxiang, an area known for cranes and temples, and turns the form of cranes flying in pairs into abstract signage images. Floor guides and merchant listings are placed at escalator entrances and exits and at points where visitor flows cross. White ink blocking printing is applied to the light sheets, so text and outlines stay clear. The hanging pieces use mirror pivot points that blend with the mall interior.
Nanxiang Incity Visual Signage System by Zesion Design was recognized as an outstanding illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Nanxiang Incity Visual Signage System won the Silver A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2021. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition that recognizes exceptional design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
