MaGnesium Hub
MaGnesium Hub is a concept design for an outpost of the National Geographic Society in Presidio, a historic neighborhood in San Francisco. The mixed-use commercial space includes an exhibition area, a cafe and a workplace, set in a two-story building overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. The design is inspired by early flash photography, in which burning magnesium powder created light. The first level is dim, as before a flash, and the second level is bright, as after a flash. Circulation, lobby and exhibition areas are planned for both function and appearance.
MaGnesium Hub Exhibition by Chia Yu Tung has been recognized as a creative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. MaGnesium Hub Exhibition earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious international design competition which honors superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
