Qingdao Marine Park Exhibition Center

Qingdao Marine Park Exhibition Center is a building designed for a marine technology and smart industry park in Huangdao District, Qingdao, China. The exhibition center is the core building of the new district and represents the image of the whole park. The main structure is steel-reinforced concrete, which supports the long upper floors and the overhang. The outer walls form a double-glazed glass curtain wall, and the first floor is clad in black granite. A glass box of 100 meters extends at the top and appears to float above the dark base.

Qingdao Marine Park Exhibition Center Building by Cheng Xiao was selected as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Qingdao Marine Park Exhibition Center Building earned the Golden A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2021. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize which celebrates outstanding design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
