Moment Series
Moment is a sculpture series that combines heirloom porcelain with blown borosilicate glass. The antique porcelain cups carry traces of history into the present, while the shaped glass represents a frozen moment. The glass is formed as if a liquid were splashing, so a brief instant is held still. Transparent and opaque colored glass was selected to suit the structure and concept of each cup. Every glass form is blown first and then joined to the porcelain piece. The intent is to preserve special moments within rapidly passing time.
Moment Series Sculpture by Derya Geylani Vuruşan was featured as a creative illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award. Moment Series Sculpture received the Silver A' Design Award in Fine Arts and Art Installation Design in 2021. The A' Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize that recognizes exceptional design of sculptures, paintings, installations, photographs, drawings, mixed media works, ceramics, art objects, craftworks and more.
