Rikchari
Rikchari is a packaging design for a Peruvian coffee brand focused on sustainability and social responsibility. The name Rikchari means wake up in Quechua, and the letter C forms a silhouette that suggests both a coffee bean and an eye. The packaging follows the logo design, which uses a typographic construction inspired by the geometric shapes of the Inca empire of Peru, known as Tocapu. The coffee is grown in Chirinos, in northern Peru, at 1700 meters above sea level. The design presents the coffee as an organic product with a social purpose.
Rikchari Coffee Packaging by Planetario has been identified as an innovative representation of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Rikchari Coffee Packaging was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2021. The A' Packaging Design Award is a highly prestigious international design accolade which celebrates outstanding design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
