Connection
Reconstruction in Pudong Shanghai is the reconstruction and expansion of an outpatient and emergency medical technology complex at a public hospital in Shanghai, China. The design joins new construction with the complexity of rebuilding an active site. The work is divided into four stages: demolition, transition, reconstruction and restoration. Temporary and converted existing buildings keep medical services running during the transition stage. The facade uses white aluminum panels, with wood grain aluminum panels at the corners, and floor-to-ceiling windows.
Connection Hospital by THAD has been highlighted as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition.
