Beyond
Beyond is a hand mirror inspired by the wing mirror of a car. A wing mirror helps a driver to see areas beyond normal vision, and Beyond carries the phrase You are more than you appear on the mirror surface. The phrase invites people to consider their inner beauty beyond their appearance. The body is made of ash wood with a soap finish, and the mirror is an acrylic sheet shaped by laser cutting and marked with text. The rounded back gives a gentle feel in the hand, and the mirror is set slightly inside the wooden rim for protection when the mirror is placed face down.
Beyond Hand Mirror by Dajeong Jang has been featured as a creative illustration of product design by the A' Design Awards. Beyond Hand Mirror won the Iron A' Design Award in Beauty, Personal Care and Cosmetic Products Design in 2021. The A' Beauty, Personal Care and Cosmetic Products Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design competition which recognizes exceptional design of lipsticks, foundations, eyeliners, mascara, blushes, concealers, nail polishes, perfumes and more.
