Dongli
Dongli is a restaurant interior located within a commercial complex in Chongqing, China. The project covers 1270 square meters on two floors. Geometric forms and a minimalist approach are used to recall the mountains and rivers of the surrounding region. A sculptural spiral staircase rises from a raised part of the ground floor and connects the two levels. A two-story corridor is arranged around a central courtyard, so views remain open between the floors. The main materials are black and green marble, white artificial stone, wood flooring, silver mirror and stainless steel.
Dongli Restaurant by Xiaobing Yao was recognized as an exceptional illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Dongli Restaurant was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design accolade that recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
