W Plus
W Plus is a hair salon located in a residential alley in the east district of Taipei, Taiwan. The interior is arranged in three progressive layers, based on a laboratory garden concept. A floor-to-ceiling glass curtain wall opens the salon to the outside, while a concrete platform at the entrance holds an indoor green garden. A cement screen filled with round holes divides the rooms and keeps the view open. Grey flooring, a stainless steel work surface and recycled materials give the 196 square meter space a cool tone. The space also suits exhibitions, lectures and events.
W Plus Hair Salon by Millton Yu has been highlighted as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. W Plus Hair Salon received the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program which rewards excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
