Profound
Profound is a residential interior design for a 92.5 square meter home in Taoyuan, Taiwan, completed in September 2020. The layout was reorganized to apply the Five Points of Architecture to interior planning, creating a free facade, a free ground plan, horizontal windows and a roof garden. The study room is placed at the center of the plan to bring daylight into the home. Dark gray and light natural paint divide the space into upper and lower layers. Wood and rattan add a sense of calmness, and certified eco-friendly materials support natural ventilation and cooling.
Profound Residential Space by Chia-I Tsai has been recognized as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Profound Residential Space won the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program that rewards superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
