From Point to Plane
From Point to Plane is a residential interior design for a 56.2 square meter home in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The palette is based on gray and white, supplemented by wood, creating a functional and neat living space. The entrance porch uses imitation water paint to emphasize the natural texture. Gray-blue upholstered furniture and leather fabrics are combined with light wood tones and bright orange accents. An L-shaped wood frame extends into an open display cabinet with aluminum strip lights, iron shelves and mirrors, which separates the leisure area from the dining and kitchen area.
From Point to Plane Residence by Shih-Kai Chen has been highlighted as an innovative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. From Point to Plane Residence earned the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design accolade that rewards outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
