Light Path and Void
Light Path and Void is a residential interior design for a large apartment unit. A continuous white framed pattern is painted on the ceiling of the public zone. The pattern directs a visual path and softens the effect of a heavy beam above the living room. Double curved ceiling lines elongate the visual height. Tile bands and wood reduce glare on the polished marble surface in the living room. The dining room and island table face an open view. Standing light posts and hidden lighting fixtures create a calm evening ambience.
Light Path and Void Residential House by George Wang was selected as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Light Path and Void Residential House was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize that rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
