Dawn of Spring
Dawn of Spring is a building that serves as a demonstration area at first and as a kindergarten later. The three-storey volume stands at a street corner within a residential community in Zhengzhou, China. The second and third floors are lifted above a transparent lower block, which creates a floating appearance. A glass curtain wall wraps the first floor, while perforated aluminium panels cover the upper facades. Vertical wrinkles in the panels reduce monotony. Interconnected screen walls at the entrance enclose a quiet water courtyard.
Dawn of Spring Building by JUNYUN Architecture Design Office was selected as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Dawn of Spring Building earned the Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2022. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design competition which recognizes exceptional design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
