Mode
Mode is an armchair with a simple, contemporary form and a classical feel that coexists. It consists of a long leg frame and a rounded shell panel. The leg frame has two different finishes, scratch and mirror, and the wood grain shell panel has a special finish that changes its color and texture depending on the angle. The wood grain shell panel has a sharp double-sided design, with the material switched between inside and outside. Mode is a comfortable armchair with a thin shell panel, so the seat is spacious even though the outer width is only 52cm, making it the most compact form ever.
Mode Armchair by Hitoshi Motomura has been highlighted as an exceptional example of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Mode Armchair was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2022. The A' Furniture Design Award is a highly prestigious international design accolade which recognizes outstanding design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
