Disappeared Manufacturing
Disappeared Manufacturing is a sales centre built in Banqiao District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. The design is based on traditional Taiwanese houses, reinterpreted with a steel structure, glass and metal roof panels. A central courtyard with a skylight is surrounded by showrooms, exhibition areas and a coffee shop. Window grilles, shaped with computer controlled metal lathes, divide the spaces on each floor. A mezzanine platform between two floors allows several events at the same time. Workshops, exhibitions and cultural activities are held in the building.
Disappeared Manufacturing Sales Centre by Wey-Duan Luo, Tzu-Ping Chan was highlighted as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Disappeared Manufacturing Sales Centre earned the Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2022. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition that celebrates excellent design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
