Expo Village Plot B
Expo Village Plot B is a residential development on the east bank of the Huangpu River in Shanghai. The buildings are arranged around the plot, with six eight-storey blocks along the river to the west and taller blocks of 19 to 22 floors to the east, forming a stepped skyline. The existing urban fabrics and facades of the Shanghai Expo Village are retained. Glass and aluminium panels form modular facades with a light visual effect. Balconies bring in sunlight, fresh air and river views. Planting covers 35 per cent of the site, creating a garden-like community.
Expo Village Plot B Residential by Shanghai Huayuan Industrial Co., Ltd. has been selected as an innovative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Expo Village Plot B Residential won the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2022. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition that recognizes excellent design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
