My Moonfly
My Moonfly is a gift box designed for moon cakes presented at the Mid-Autumn Festival. The design depicts the Moon Palace of Chinese mythology, with pavilions and halls formed by multi-layered three-dimensional paper carving. A light inside the moon shines through the carved layers, creating changing patterns of light and shadow. The box holds six moon cakes and a case with forks and knives. Eco-friendly paper is used, with embossing and gold stamping. Measuring 242 by 242 by 75 millimeters, the box can be kept as a lit decoration on shelves or tables.
My Moonfly Gift Box by ShenZhen XiShang Boutique Packing Co., Ltd has been selected as a creative representation of communication design by the A' Design Award. My Moonfly Gift Box earned the Silver A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2022. The A' Packaging Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program that honors outstanding design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
