Nostalgia Moon
Nostalgia Moon is a fashion collection inspired by the shape and phases of the moon in the night sky. The collection recalls nights of prayer and memories of a grandmother. Circles are added to basic bodice patterns, and flexible boning is placed along the edges of each garment. The boning holds the soft curves of the round moon and gives every piece a three-dimensional form. The looks are draped on a size 4 female dress form and a size 36 male dress form. The collection was developed between August 2020 and May 2021.
Nostalgia Moon Wearable Art by Chelsea Shin was highlighted as an outstanding illustration of fashion design by the A' Design Awards. Nostalgia Moon Wearable Art won the Bronze A' Design Award in Fashion, Apparel and Garment Design in 2022. The A' Fashion, Apparel and Garment Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design prize which recognizes exceptional design of runway collections, dresses, suits, skirts, outerwear, jackets, apparel, garments and more.
