Baidu Thematic Map is a mobile map application for Android and iOS smartphones. The application shows map information selected for different user groups, based on time, space and user profiles. Human, geographical and social factors are combined and presented together, so nearby services and current events can be found quickly. Graphic map information is integrated with text on the screen for easy reading. Artificial intelligence and big data are used to adapt the display to each group. The aim is to reduce search effort and to support daily study, travel and exploration.
Baidu Thematic Map by Baidu Online Network Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd has been selected as an innovative illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Baidu Thematic Map won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interface, Interaction and User Experience Design in 2022. The A' Interface, Interaction and User Experience Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize which honors superior design of websites, mobile applications, software interfaces, game interfaces, wearable interfaces, virtual reality interfaces, augmented reality interfaces, dashboard designs and more.
