Smashy
Smashy is a package of chocolate eggs that takes the shape of a hammer. The design joins the form of a hammer with the form of an egg, so the package also looks like an egg with a handle. Smashy can be smashed in any place. Candies then pop out, giving a moment of surprise. The mix inside holds chocolates, crackers, gummies and hard candies. The package measures 155 by 183 by 76 millimeters and is made of plastic. Smashy is intended to renew the old habit of smashing chocolate eggs and to make snacking more playful.
Smashy Package of Chocolate Eggs by Mutian Yu has been recognized as an outstanding example of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Smashy Package of Chocolate Eggs was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2022. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which honors outstanding design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
