Purnu
Purnu is a glass jar designed for storing food, flowers and other small items. Purnu is hand shaped from mouth blown glass in a studio in Helsinki, Finland. The jar is 20 cm tall and has a simplified form with playful colors that reflect Northern aesthetics. The jar can hold food or flowers, and can also be displayed empty as an interior object. Opening the tall jar and placing items inside takes time and calmness. The design also supports the preservation of traditional glass making craftsmanship.
Purnu Jar by Sini Majuri was selected as an outstanding representation of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Purnu Jar earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2022. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program which recognizes excellent design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
