Sertao
Sertao is a side table inspired by the painting Abaporu, created in 1928 by Tarsila do Amaral, a symbol of modernism in Brazil. The rounded form follows fluid and organic lines that reinterpret the movement and the playful spirit of the painting. Soft and vivid tones complete the composition. The table has an MDF structure with lacquer paint and an American oak finish. It measures 45 cm in width, 30 cm in depth and 50 cm in height. Each piece is handcrafted by local artisans in Cruzilia, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Sertao Side Table by Gabriela Campos has been featured as an outstanding illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Sertao Side Table won the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2023. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition which celebrates exceptional design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
