Bright Corridor
Bright Corridor is a residential interior design for a four-story single-family house in Taichung City. The home was renovated for a retired couple so that the house is barrier-free. An elevator was installed and the vertical route was reorganized. A patio was created in the center of the roof, above the steel staircase, to bring daylight into a corridor that was previously long, narrow and dark. Blue is used as the main tone. Materials include Bolon carpet, tile, plywood, wood, concrete, metal and glass tile.
Bright Corridor Residential by Chien-Hwan Wang has been featured as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Bright Corridor Residential was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program that celebrates excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
