Groove Dance
Groove Dance is an apartment interior design of 165 square meters, with three bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, a dressing room and three bathrooms. Curved lines shape the ceiling and connect the different areas. The ceiling is set at three heights to reduce the effect of the large beams and to add visual rhythm. Curved and slanted lines guide movement and soften the original square plan. The guest room has a movable curved glass door that opens to extend the dining and living area. Bronze metal and reflective surfaces create a dance floor effect.
Groove Dance Apartment by Ding Jia Chen / Yu Chiao Chou has been highlighted as an innovative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Groove Dance Apartment was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program that rewards superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
