Hotel Home
Hotel Home is a residential interior design for a 290 square meter apartment in Kaohsiung. The home was created for a couple and their two sons, who wanted the calm elegance of a hotel without the use of marble. Dark brown glass, wood veneer, stretch fabric, wallpaper, iron pieces and titanium plated metal form the main surfaces. An arched ceiling raises the sense of height and conceals a prominent beam in the dining area, and a change in ceiling level hides the suspended air conditioner. Detachable arched shelves in the game room can later serve as general storage.
Hotel Home Residence by Pei Ru Tsai has been recognized as an exceptional illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Hotel Home Residence earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program which recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
